Requiem or Same Day Dry-Cleaning System was an installation-based exhibition by three New York-based Russian artists: Abram Nitsberg, Jim Renvelh, and Alex Rudansky. The project is a revolving conveyor system that simulates the ones in professional dry cleaners for storing processed garments. The intention was to critique the idolization of historical figures under a contemporary context. Hung from the conveyor are cardboard cutouts of blue jeans, with historical figures' names attached. The project thus served as a metaphor for the cyclical nature of history, while integrating pop culture with past events.
